The Neighbourhood

Well-connected and buzzing with atmosphere, East London is the perfect place to live if you enjoy quality nights out. World-class bars, famous clubs and a variety of global restaurants surround the Rathbone East apartments and with Canning Town Tube only a 7-minute walk away, the rest of London’s best night spots are also within easy reach. North Greenwich is only one Tube stop away; here, the famous O2 stadium hosts international music concerts, large-scale events, and is home to trendy bars and restaurants.

Favourites among London’s hip crowd, Shoreditch and Hoxton are just 20 minutes away from the residences. A plethora of cosy pubs, cutting-edge bars, and fashionable restaurants line the streets of these East London neighbourhoods, and with the Tube running late on the weekends, there’s all the more reason to stay out and enjoy what London nightlife has to offer.

If an evening at the theatre appeals more than bar-hopping, the West End – also known as London’s theatre-land – is just 25 minutes away

One of the many highlights of life at Rathbone East is the myriad public transport connections on your doorstep. You can be at Westfield Stratford City in less than ten minutes, where you’ll find a vast array of well-loved high street brands under one roof. Designer boutiques line chic Bond Street, 20 minutes away by Tube; or for those who like quirky, one-of-a-kind pieces, Spitalfield’s Market on a Saturday is a short journey from the apartments.

Over the river, Greenwich is home to a cluster of pretty shops selling original gifts; while in the other direction but still close by is Colombia Road, hosting plenty of independent cafes and small boutiques, as well as London’s famous flower market on Sundays. Nearer home, Rathbone Market (open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) sells everything from freshly baked bread and fluffy cakes to jeans, shoes and homeware goods.

Whether you’re looking for high-end, high street or handmade, there’s plenty in the vicinity to choose from.

Bike-owners can relax in the knowledge that their bike is stored securely, thanks to Rathbone East’ secure bike racks. Nearby is Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with easy access to the Lee Valley Velo Park, the world’s fastest velodrome with track cycling, road racing, BMX and mountain biking facilities.

Minutes from the residences, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre feature two hockey pitches, four indoor tennis courts and six outdoor courts that are open all year round.

Start your day with a refreshing swim in an Olympic pool – the nearby London Aquatic Centre boasts a unique and striking design. Its array of family-friendly facilities range from the 50m competition pool, 50m training pool, state-of-the-art gym, café, crèche, and even a sports science space. It also has diving facilities and hosts courses such as the Tom Daley Diving Academy’s ‘Learn to Dive’ programme.
